Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

The Nags Charity Barbarians (“The Nags”, “we”, “us”) is a charity rugby team raising money for Cancer Research UK. This website (nagsrugby.co.uk) is operated on our behalf. For any privacy-related question email NagsCharityBarbarians@proton.me.

2. What information we collect

We collect personal data only when you give it to us directly:

Contact form / email: name, email address and any details you choose to include.
Shop purchases (WooCommerce): name, billing address, shipping address, email, phone number, payment details. The shop is operated on our behalf by Scimitar Sports UK Limited, who fulfil all orders and handle customer service. Payment card details are never stored on our servers – they are handled by the payment processor (Stripe or PayPal).
Website usage data: anonymised analytics (page views, country, device type) via Google Analytics, if enabled.

Donations made via the Cancer Research UK fundraising page are processed entirely by Cancer Research UK – we do not see or store donor details. See their privacy policy for details.

3. Why we collect it

To respond to enquiries you send us.
To fulfil shop orders (where applicable).
To improve the website based on aggregated usage patterns.

We will not use your data for marketing, share it with third parties for marketing, or sell it. We are a charity, not a marketing operation.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to make the site work and to understand how it’s being used. See our Cookie Policy for details.

5. How long we keep it

Contact enquiries: up to 24 months from the last reply.
Shop orders: as required by UK law (typically 7 years for accounting records).
Analytics: anonymised, retained for 14 months.

6. Who we share it with

Shop fulfilment: Scimitar Sports UK Limited (operates the shop on our behalf, receives order details, fulfils and dispatches products).
Hosting: SiteGround (UK / EU servers).
Payment processing: Stripe and / or PayPal.
Analytics: Google Analytics (anonymised).
Email: Proton Mail.

Each of these has its own privacy and security commitments under UK / EU GDPR.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Ask what data we hold about you.
Ask us to correct it if it’s wrong.
Ask us to delete it.
Object to or restrict how we process it.
Withdraw consent at any time.
Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we’ve got it wrong.

To exercise any of these rights, email NagsCharityBarbarians@proton.me. We’ll respond within 30 days.

8. Children

The site is not aimed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect data from under-16s. If we discover we have, we’ll delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for a reasonable period.
